A Range Rover is one of the most rewarding cars to own in Dubai and one of the least forgiving of neglect. The systems that make it comfortable, particularly the air suspension, are the same systems that suffer most in 47C heat, and the gap between catching a fault early and catching it late is measured in thousands of dirhams.

If you own a Range Rover in Dubai for long enough, this is the repair you will eventually face. The air springs rely on a rubber membrane, and sustained heat makes that rubber lose elasticity and develop micro cracks. The car then leaks air slowly, usually settling overnight on one corner.
What follows is the expensive part. The compressor runs more and more often to keep the system inflated, works beyond its duty cycle, and burns out. A fault that started as one air spring becomes a spring plus a compressor, and sometimes all four corners.
On any Range Rover past about five years old, having the compressor and seals inspected before they fail is genuinely worth doing, because the preventive job costs a fraction of the reactive one.

The defining Range Rover fault in this climate. Rubber air spring membranes harden and micro crack in sustained heat, the system loses air overnight, and the compressor burns out trying to keep up. Caught at one corner it is a contained repair. Left alone it takes the compressor with it.
Thermostats, water pumps, radiators and expansion tanks all work harder here than they were designed for. On these engines an overheat is never cheap, so a cooling system that is even slightly past its best is worth addressing early.
Gaskets and seals harden faster in Dubai heat. A weep from the timing cover or valve cover is common on higher mileage examples and is far cheaper to reseal than to ignore until oil is dropping onto the exhaust.
These vehicles carry a very large number of control modules, and a weak battery or a module that will not sleep produces warnings across systems that seem unrelated. Proper diagnostics separates the actual fault from its symptoms.
On supercharged V6 and V8 models, belt tensioners, idlers and supercharger couplings wear. A whine that changes with engine speed is worth investigating before it becomes a bigger job.
Permanent four wheel drive means the transfer case and differentials carry constant load. Fluid changes at sensible intervals are cheap insurance against a repair that is not.
The interval printed in the handbook assumes a temperate climate. In Dubai, heat and airborne dust degrade oil and filters considerably faster, so the practical interval for a Range Rover here is closer to 10,000 km than the standard 15,000 km.

An independent specialist is usually meaningfully cheaper, because labour rates are lower and you get a genuine choice on parts. We will quote genuine and quality aftermarket side by side and explain where the difference actually matters and where it does not.
We will also tell you when the dealer is the better answer. If your vehicle is still inside its manufacturer warranty, or a fault needs manufacturer specific software that we do not have, saying so is more useful to you than taking the job.

Do not ignore it and avoid long drives. The system often drops the vehicle to its lowest setting and may refuse to raise. Continuing to drive on a failed corner puts load through components that were never meant to carry it. Get it diagnosed before it becomes a multi corner repair.
